Activities

The annual conference of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers for 2011 was held at the Sheraton Centre Toronto from 2-5 November.  PPAC staff was involved in the following activities:

Carmen Gress contributed to a pre-conference seminar entitled: A “Worldly” Approach: Creating Sound Sex Offender Policy by Building on International Experience. 

Carmen Gress, Richard Laws, and David Glasgow presented data on sexual interest assessment in: Informing Best Practices in the Assessment of Sexually Deviant Interests Using Viewing Time: The Affinity.

Richard Laws chaired a symposium entitled: Deviant Sexual Interests: The Eyes Tell the Story.

Richard Laws served as a discussant for two symposia:

  • Conceptualizing Sexual Interests, Chaired by Ruth Mann.
  • People Like Us: Desistance from Sex Offending, chaired by Tony Ward.
